The person behind Back 2 Wood

Barbara Rose

A working life spent with wood.

Barbara began her career at a local antique restoration company, stripping doors and furniture and learning to French polish. It was the start of a lasting connection with traditional woodwork.

How it began

From the workshop to period properties.

After her first years in antique restoration, Barbara returned to college to train as a wood machinist. She spent four years working as a joiner and machinist, specialising in the restoration of period properties.

She later established her own door stripping business in Kent. After moving to Sussex, she closed the stripping plant and shifted her focus to work on site and furniture restoration, the work that Back 2 Wood is known for today.

The work today

Respecting what is already there.

Restoring and bringing wood back to life in period properties, homes of all ages and furniture.

Away from work, she enjoys wood turning when time allows.
